● Previous library experience is desirable but not required
● Education requirement: Associates degree or higher

● Ability to build positive relationships with all patrons
● Collaborating with local schools, community and regional organizations
● Self-starter, reliable, and personable
● Effective communication skills, both written and oral

Job Description
The duties of the library director shall include but not be limited to the following:
● Direct the general day-to-day operation of the library and program planning
● Select and order books
● Report to the library board at monthly meetings
● Prepare an annual budget
● Oversee the maintenance of the library building and grounds
● Assist patrons in their use of the library collections and services
● Manage and direct the activities of assigned staff
● Utilize common computer software and standard office practices
● Read to and communicate with audiences of all ages
● Able to carry, stand, walk, bend, twist, and the strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds

Working conditions
● Library is open Monday-Friday 9:00-5:30, Saturday 9:00-12:00 & 1:00-4:00
● Scheduled 37.5 hours per week
o Some evenings and weekend hours may be required
